The ICT progress that we have witnessed in the last decade and the huge demand from users all around the world has forced governments and companies to adopt the digital alternative as the ultimate way to provide services and hence to achieve the development at both economic and social levels. Thus, the world is becoming more and more hyper-connected and complex with the emergence of many new trends, like: Cloud Computing, Big Data, Open Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Virtual Reality, e-currency, Fiat money…etc.

Forum's Objectives and outputs
The main goals of this forum, gathering high level government’s officials and specialized International experts from the Arab and African regions and the rest of the world, is to provide a platform for an interregional dialogue about : e-trust services international trends, Standardization Gap and the ways to bridge it, and the key role of national "e-certification authorities" in building "trustworthy digital societies".
The second edition of the “Interregional Standardization Forum for PKI & e-Trust” will be a step ahead in the implementation of the recommendations issued in the Muscat Declaration: "Electronic certification is the pillar of the Arab and regional digital economy".
Objectives :
- Strengthening the multi-stakeholders Interregional ongoing dialogue about e-trust services and the key role of national e-certification authorities in building trustworthy digital societies
- Providing the stage for international trends and cutting age technologies and e-trust services
- Paving the way towards the interoperability and mutual recognition of e-trust services between countries from different regions
- Boosting the interregional cooperation in field of e-trust to coordinate efforts and come up with sustainable solutions both on the technical and legal levels to combat the growth of cyber threats.
- Raising the awareness about the standardization importance in spreading the ICT benefits, and the ways to fill up the Standardization gap in both Arab and African regions when it comes to e-certification and e-trust.
It will be an opportunity to strengthen the “Arab-African e-certification Authorities Network” actions and goals through the:
- Approval of the working process
- Development of the operational road map
- Setting up of ways and mechanisms for better involvement of developing countries
- Capacity building workshops focused on new trends
